Hi, I have a Kenmore Coldspot refrigerator with water/ice on the door.
Is there a way to remove the housing around the ice maker on the front of
the door? I am trying to repaint the frig.

Thank yoU!
It helps if you push down the bottom front edge while carefully prying the face plate off. It will snap off and then you can unplug the wiring harness.

Nothing budges when I push down the front edge.

Are there clips holding it on?

No, just plastic tabs, If you pry gently while pushing down on the front edge it helps.

When we try to pry it, it seems like something is going to snap.

From the edge, it appears that the 'clip' or whatever is holding

it is screwed to the door. When we pry, that entire piece moves.

I can see on the top when I pry it up the screw and wire to the

housing. I just don't want to snap a clip and not be able to get

it back on. Are you sure the housing comes off?

I got the bottom left corner off!! You are right it does take

come 'prying'. Thanks so much, have a great day !
