I have a Subzero 632X built in frig and the ice maker stopped

Resolved Question:

I have a Subzero 632X built in frig and the ice maker stopped making ice and the control panel in the frig side says "Service Ice". What is the likely problem? HG in Orinda, CA

well the first thing you should check is the tube running into the ice maker and make sure it hasnt frozen., is the ice maker turning? let me know, thanks Bryan

The tube was not frozen, and I cleared the blinking ICE SERVICE msg by powering off the entire frig. (saw that advice elsewhere) This morning I found ice in the bin. I suspect the motor that dumps the ice may be on the fritz. The blinking warning is not back. Do you agree?

that could be , is it still making ice? can you get the ice maker out and check the gear under the front white cover. sometimes these have little tabs that break in the middle if this has a module type, you can see them in this picture if this is your type, Part(NNN) NNN-NNNN width=let me know thanks Bryan

Bryan, still making ice tonight. I think if it happens again I'lll look to replacing the ice maker portion or the subpart you mentioned above.I don't see the part you show, it looks like I'd have to remove two screws and pull out the icemaker. In this model the lengh of the tray runs from left to right, with the motor on the left. Thanks, HG

ok no problem, in order to see the part I showed you it would have to come out and the cover would need to come off, depends on the ice maker. let me know thanks Bryan
