The agitator (center piece) in my washer doesnt seem to be

The agitator (center piece) in my washer doesn't seem to be spinning around anymore; at least not like it used to. I believe whatever mechanism forces the agitator to spin, is not gripping it/making it spin anymore. Is this something I can fix?
