If the heater heats up to temperature and then shuts down then you should look for trouble in the circulator. The circ is responsible for transferring the heat from the heater to the pool. Either the circ isn't getting powered or the circ has failed or the recirculation piping is closed (maybe a valve off?). Based on the info it should be one of these three things.
