have a model no frt18l4jw1 little over a year old. It just quit, have power light comes on but the compressor won't run nor will either fan.

If you're sure the compressor is getting power, first check the capacitor. If the capacitor is bad just replace, if the capacitor is good then the compressor is bad. Parts are available at this web page:

i'm not sure I saw a capacitor although there is a small component at the compressor where the power comes in i did take it apart and there is a small disc that resembles a battery. Would that be the capacitor?
