Will the igniter still glow and light at least once?

yes the igniter continues to light
OK, that means your gas coils are getting weak and are failing to open your gas valve without a lot of rest. You will need to replace the coils to get the unit working properly again. The coils are the 2 black cylinder looking things just in front of the igniter. Here is a link to the part you will need to order.
