I bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator with a bottom freezer

Customer Question

I bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator with a bottom freezer two years ago.
I have been very happy with my purchase.
Recently the unit has been making a knocking noise (about a dozen knocks) every two hours. The noise seems to be coming out of the area of the ice maker that is not hooked up. The noise does not seem to affect the operation of the unit but it is very annoying.

if this is comming from inside the freezer its either the fan is hitting some ice behind the panel or the ice maker is cycleing even though its not connected if the arm is in the down possition the ice maker will continue to turn and it may be hitting something in the freezer. check to make sure the metal arm is up in the off possition, thanks Bryan
