Customer Question

my bosch axxis dryer has a four prong plug and my outlet (previously used with my old washer/dryer is a 3 prong (220 v). Can I just change out the cord on the dryer? (Lowes actually sent a three prong cord, but the delivery man said he wasnt sure whether it was ok to swap)

Yes. A dryer is not made any differently to accomodate one or the other.

thx. about to click accept but just to alleviate my paranoia - no safety issue by using 3 prong? (e.g., won't be ungrounded as a result or something will it?)

when installing the three prong cord, I obviously attach the hot wires to each of the two hot terminals. I assume that I attach the third wire to the neutral? But what about the ground screw on the dryer - it won't have a connection? Do I use a wire to connect the neutral terminal to the ground?

no connection necessary to the gnd terminal.
