I do not have a dial tone and the phone company does not detect any problems .

also my internet is thru my phone anf it will not connect either

Expert:  Francis replied 8 years ago.

If you do not have a dial tone, make sure that the telephone cable is hooked up to your base. Then put the handset to the cradle, it should sync the phone to the base and you should have a dial tone.

Regarding internet, make sure your modem has power, the telephone line is also connected to the modem and the LAN cable to your computer. You can reset by disconnecting the power to the modem for 2 minutes and plugging it back.

You can test also the splitter of the phone lines by disconnecting the telephone line to the splitter and hooking it up directly to the telephone base unit. Check if you will have dial tone.

If not, then the incoming cable from the post to your house would have the problem.
