Icemaker wont fill on Whirlpool refrigerator model ED5VHGXMB10.

This answer was rated:

Icemaker won't fill on Whirlpool refrigerator model ED5VHGXMB10. All voltages checked and OK. Valve problem suspected. The fridge looks like a sealed tomb. What's the next step?

Hello dot and bruce,

Pull the fridge out and in back behind the cover is the water valve. If your icemaker runs ( goes through a cycle but no water comes in then this is the problem. Sometimes these valves will leak a little causing the fill funnel in the freezer to freeze solid so check that too but if this is the case the valve is still the culprit and must be replaced.

It doesn't go through a cycle. I checked that line voltage exists between the three hot leads and ground lead into the icemaker, and tried replacing the ice maker.
You installed a new icemaker ? The icemaker will not start a cycle until it gets down to about 15 degrees, but you can force a cycle by using a piece of #14 wire and jumping in the holes that say T and H ( the ones that are the closest together) hold in there until icemaker starts and then remove . I.M. should go through the entire cycle and water should come in at the very end of cycle
