The fabric softener dispenser does not flush itself on my Frigidaire

Customer Question

The fabric softener dispenser does not flush itself on my Frigidaire Gallery Front Loader. Can I remove the dispenser unit and flush it out?

Remove the caps inside the dispenser over the softener hole and see if it is cleaned out. Pour water in it over the water level and see if siphons it out.

I've already lifted the dispenser cups, though they do not completely lift out. I can also flush the fabric softener with water poured into the dispenser, but it will not flush itself during the wash cycle. I have to set a timer for the machine and add water to the dispenser during the rinse cycle in order to introduce softener into the wash load.

okay so the motor on the dispenser is bad not switching it to fill the softner tray with water. You need a new dispenser.

Is that something I can order and replace myself or do I need to contact a repairman?

If you are somewhat handy I would think you could replace it yourself.
