It sounds like you have a short in ref. , does is trip immediately as soon as you plug it in or does it trip when the compressor comes on? can you get me model #? thanks Bryan

It trips immediately it is plugged in. We woke yesterday morning to find the electrics off. Its model number G52728EEDW/11 and serial number is XXXXX

the first thing I would check is for bad wire or wires in the back of ref. take the rear panel covering the compressor off and inspect the wiring , I've seen many times when a mouse as chewed the wiring and caused a short, also check the compressor relay and make sure it hasn't burned up. its on the side of compressor, your model # XXXXX't comming up either, is this make in U.S., or U.K.?. I'll keep checking model #. thanks Bryan

Sorry the model is GS2727EEDW/11 not g5.

i cant understand how the problem could just occur literally overnight!

We now have a cat so dont have the mouse problem anymore :-)

If it proves to be the compressor, we are just wondering as the unit is 9 years old - would it be worth repairing as this could be the start of big repair bills? A compresser for it is about £400!

this machine has a 220 volt compressor if it turns out to be compressor you are looking at probably over $600.00 to replace , this has allot of parts in it that could be causing the problem, the capacitor could be bad the board may be bad, I'f you dont see any bad wires or anything ovbious I recomend callindg for service ,these are way to complicated and expensive to work on and make a mistake that could cost you allot of money, heres a site with diagrams if you want to see parts. hope this helps, thanks Bryan
