I have a Maytag Washer, mod # XXXXX and when I start it, the water will begin to fill, and aprox. 30 seconds later it will stop and won't go into any cycle.

sounds like yopu may have a bad fill valve , let me check your model and get back to you. in the meantime shut water off and remove the hoses and check the screens in fill valve and hoese, thanks Bryan
