general electric profile refrigerator/freezer model tph21pr/pb. The drain plug, on the freezer side,is at the bottom of the unit. The drain plug freezes over, 1/4 inch ice forms on the bottom, and next cycle water spills out the unit onto the kitchen floor. How do I prevent the drain plug freeze?
Good afternoon. Have you flushed lots of water down the drain to make sure there is nothing that is sitting in the tube? Alot of times, dust from undernetah will gather at the bottom of the tube and slow the drainage so as to allow it to freeze before it totally drains. A long bottle brush and hot water works really well to clean those drain lines. Try that and see if that takes care of it....Kelly
