Customer Question

I have a Frigidaire fridge plhs237za, that sat in my garage unplugged over the winter. Now that it,s plugged in it won''t cool at all. Everything sounds like it''s operating. Thanks. Dave.

Hello,

I will be happy to help you out. How long has the machine been plugged in?

Hello,

Can you remove the panel on the back of the fridge that covers the compressor. Place your hand on the "bowling ball" compressor and see if it feels warm.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks Again,

Bill

Reply to MrBill's Post: I was thinking compressor from the start. I was hoping it might be something simpler. I'm at work right now, I'll check in the morning. Thanks.

The compressor is warm on the top and very warm on the bottom. Thanks.

Hello,

I would have to say you have freon issue or a bad compressor. A repair like this is going to be rather expensive. At this time I would look to replace the machine.

The average cost for a compressor is around 180 dollars or so. The labor alone on this type of work will be at least that.

If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks Again,

Bill
