We just purchased an Over the Range microwave ...

Resolved Question:

We just purchased an "Over the Range" microwave oven in error. We thought we were buying a countertop range. Worst of all the receipt has been lost. It appears that the heat dissipates though the bottom. Could this unit be used as a stand alone countertop appliance if were raised or placed a couple of bricks or two by fours?

it's not realy recomended for countertop use , puting it on wood or bricks would make the unit unstable , also would probably damage the countertop eventually. is there anyway to mount it under your cabinet? microwaves are made so they don't always vent outside but i would check your manual to see if needs to be vented.
