Maytag gas dryer, mdg9206aww, Heats up for 10 seconds then stops firing. Dryer continues to run with no heat.

This almost indicates the solenoid coils on the gas valve are bad and not holding the valve open for gas to flow through. Replace both of them - part numbers are 694539 $31.00 and 694540 $ 33.00 Open the door and remove the screws on the door hinge and on opposite side -(the plastic fillers) and remove the front ( no- the door won't fall off but it will be "loose") move it to the side and leave wires connected . See the gas valve - on top of the valve are the solenoids with wire connectors on them . Get the parts first and this will help you see what I'm referring to . Thanks for using justanswer.
