I have a Maytag model MGD3500BWW and need to know how to get the top off in order to tighten one of the internal tumbler bars.

Hi Customer;

Ok to remove the top, pull out the lint trap, and remove the two screws located there.

Using a stiff putty knife, or a thin flat bar pry up on the front right, and left corners of the top cover. Raise it back, and lean it against a wall.

Thats all there is to it.
