Resolved Question:

We have an amana side-by-side refrigerator about 12 years old. The freezer is not freezing on the bottom. However, it is freezing half way up and on the top. Ice making is starting to deminish.

Hi, Thank you for using justanswer for your appliance questions!

My first thought on this is to see if your freezer fan motor is running. The freezer is the only cooling section on your fridge, the freezer side has no cooling value. It steals its cold air from the refrigerator side using a fan. So the fan is very important!
Check this first. Your fan motor may be bad.

hope this helps!
