All damage to this coin appears to be due to circulation. There are no other known examples of a similar error occurring with these quarters. Typically, with error coins, you'll see double die errors or even more common railroad errors/ partial collar strikes. When partial die errors occur the coin is struck off the rim and in severe cases this leads to the lettering or the design missing or appearing damaged. This coin shows no signs of having a mint error. There are no issues with the striking. The pitting, cutting, and even the discoloration are the result of the coin being circulated for over 2 decades. These quarters are 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel. The gold tone you see on certain spots are the result of the nickel cladding being worn/damaged and exposing the copper.
Unfortunately, based on the photos and information concerning errors and known errors for this year, I am quite certain this is a regular 2000-D New Hampshire State Quarter that has significant circulation wear. This coin would be worth its face value.
