Well, I’m sorry to tell you this but 1943 steel wheat pennies are very common and are only worth about 30-35 cents in circulated condition.

jeez. well I just blew $28 on absolutely nothing.any chance you could tell me if there are any coins worth looking for in a common coin jar? iv got Penny's from the 40's and 50's? I haven't gone through everythingat this point the cost of this conversation just became hurtfulI really thought I had something

The problem is, when you see a coin listed for sale on eBay that is not a “value”, it’s an asking price. The seller would love for you to pay him $1,000 for a 30 cent coin.Many, many people see eBay numbers and think they’ve struck it rich.If you have pre-1964 dimes, quarters, halves and dollar coins, they are 90% silver and have some added value.I should say pre-1965, actually. 1964 is included in the silver years.

As far as pennies. If you have some early ones like 1909, they can be worth a few dollars. Everything else is pretty much worth face value plus a little.Any other questions?Are you still with me?
