I have a lot of 23 J & J G Low art tiles. 5 bluish spiral

Customer Question

I have a lot of 23 J & J G Low art tiles. 5 bluish spiral and 18 brownish gold flared diamond with flower in center. Copyright on blue says 1881. I got them from my grandmother's and they were still wrapped in newspaper from Feb 1961. I don't know for certain, but based on family history there is a possibility they may have come from either the Agassiz family at Castle Hill in Newport, RI (grandma's mom's family worked for them) or, less likely, Vanderbilt family in Newport, RI (grandma's dad worked for them).
JA: I always love having an appraiser look at my stuff. Sometimes its turned out to be surprisingly valuable. Is there anything else the Antiques Appraiser should be aware of?
Customer: They definitely look like they were used at some point as the backs appear to have thinset (or whatever they used to set tiles back then) on the back. Some tiles have minor chips but otherwise they appear to be in very good condition. Like I said, they've been under wraps since 1961!

Hi! My name is ***** ***** I would be glad to help with your J.G.Low tiles.

Can you very kindly attach photos of them, front and back.

Are they the 6" x 6" size?
