Customer Question

Hi. I have this old figurine of hunter holding a rifle and a bird. White color but I am not sure what it is made of - porcelain or some other material. The mark on the base is not painted but pressed - two lions or other animals are leaning from two sides on the castle or tower. Please help me to identify this item. Thank you
JA: I always love having an appraiser look at my stuff. Sometimes its turned out to be surprisingly valuable. Is there anything else important you think the Antiques Appraiser should know?

This is a circa 1860 Staffordshire ironstone figurine depicting

a young boy with pheasant and rifle. The mark is an English or Scottish mark

with tower and lion and horse, but the exact maker is not known by this impressed mark.

The value of this piece is $125 to $150 retail.

Some sites that I recommend for selling are (local), (local) ,,,,,,

You can also go to or and search their directory for an auction house near you and consign to them.
