I have a Hard Cover book titled: American Archives,

Customer Question

I have a Hard Cover book titled: American Archives, Historical Book Documenting History Vol 1 1776-1783 (covers are detached but otherwise in fine condition). There is a copy of the Declaration of Independence within the bound book printed by Stone (1833). Wish to sell it, but would like to know its value and whether it is better to remove the declaration copy and sell it separately. Thank you for your reply.

My research indicates that your book of copies of papers important to the early history of the USA would have an estimated retail value of $300-350 assuming good condition and depending on sale geographic location.

See the following site for tips on selling old books.

How to sell books:

In general, a private seller to a dealer, via consignment or at auction can expect 30-50% of estimated retail value.

Insurance replacement values are usually about 10% more than retail values.

I hope I have helped you.
