Customer Question

Hello there, I have a lot of antique/primitive wooden tool boxes from the early 1900's. It was my grandfather's, handmade & is full of tools. The box is approximately 16" Wide X 8" High X 31" LONG with a leather handle. Filled with various types of tools. It has been unused for 60yrs. There's a lot of Henry Disston saws, planes, & hammers. Where do you suggest I have it appraised in the SE PA area. Thanks for your help, Michelle Gormley

Hi, my name is*****'m a certified appraiser, and I'd be happy to help.

I can certainly appraise the box and tools for you right here.

Could you please post another photo or two where I can see the whole box clearly, and another couple of photos where I can see all the tools laid out?

Here we go.

The keystone saw, the one with the floral design, would retail for around $70, the other saws at around $70 each. The smaller tools, perhaps $20-$30 each, the set of drills and drivers $50-$60.

The tool box would likely be valued at around $40.

I'm not sure how to add it up as I can't quite get a handle on the photos--which are duplicate items.
