Customer Question

We have a print or drawing of a childs head facing to the left. It is more of a rust color, and looks like it was done with pencil, and it has a lot of swirls and curls, done very lightly.
We found it and it was in an old frame, with nails every inch apart holding the picture in the frame. Size approx. 12 x 18.

Hi, You have a fairly contemporary, 20th century print copy of a circa 1527 gestural study drawing by Italian Master Andrea del Sarto. This was a preliminary sketch for the commissioned painting, Bogherini Holy Family. Here is a link for you to the finished painting: Here is a link for you that has some history on del Sarto's sketch process and an image of your print with caption is on this site page too: On today's market, your 12" x 18" copy of this red chalk sketch can sell for $15 - $40.
