I have a Aldo Londi looking lamp its 50cm tall with 13cm

Customer Question

Hi I have a Aldo Londi looking lamp its 50cm tall with 13cm base its Blue with green strips and patterns running around up and down at different sections.
Now on the base it has some markings in black glaze (7085 italy).
It has been in the family from 1968 or less.
It is perfect condition no chips or marks just dusty.
It came with a greeny blue shade with small gold bands top and bottom.
Is it real?
Whats it worth?
Regards Greg.

After talking to my parents the purchase date was pre 1968.

This is a Bitossi lamp. Guido Bitossi was a designer and studiopotter in Florence, Italy from 1921-1950, the company continuedunder Ettore Sottass (Aldo Londi was an artist there, too) from the 1960's to 1990.This lamp looks to be from the mid 60's and would be referred to as a Bitossi lamp in Rimini BLue glaze. The value of this lamp is $300 to $400.I know these lamps are on for thousands, but that site is so very overpriced and does not reflect real value. It is important for you to click the stars after you have read this answer.
