My grandfather found a plate back in 1940's digging a septic

Customer Question

My grandfather found a plate back in 1940's digging a septic tank. There is no stamp on the back. How can I identify the plate?

Hi There~ My name is ***** ***** I am here to help with your question. At your convenience, please send photos of the front and back of plate (even though unmarked). When taking a clear close-up try using the macro function on your camera. It looks like a small flower icon. This will allow sharper focus at a closer-range. When evaluating an item, photos are essential to helping me come to a correct assessment. If there is a toolbar with a paperclip icon showing above the box where you type in responses, then follow the steps on this link for sharing photos: I look forward to seeing the images. If you are unable to send photos right away, that is fine – there is not a time limit here. Sincerely,Nora

I'm not sure how to upload from my phone

Hi, You can try emailing your images to *****@******.*** and write “For Nora/Antiques” in the subject line of the email. (I am testing a new system here this week, and it is masking the contact email - please send to***@******.***). Photos sent by email do not arrive to me directly nor instantly, they get forwarded to me by admin. ~Nora

Hi Lisa,
I was testing a new system here that I now realize was not letting me view attached images. My apologies for the confusion and I can see the image of the plate attached here.
I just need to know the dimension across the plate. Please send that info at your convenience.

I'm sorry I was waiting on my grandfather to let me know the dimensions but he hasn't called yet. It's a medium sized plate maybe 7" wide give or take
