What you have here is a great piece of radio/recording history. Your record dates to 1949 and was made by the Pyrox Recording Company of Melbourne. These recorders were made for both commercial professional use and also for in home usage.

Based on the model of wire recorder you have and it's working condition, it has a fair market value of 300-500 AUD. This is the value you should expect to sell it for at a higher end auction or in an antique shop/gallery. It is a great collectible recorder, as Pyrox models are highly valued by collectors.

Insurance value on the recorder should be no less than 650 AUD replacement value.
