You have a lovely Waltham Banjo Clock with superb reverse painting, probably done sometime around the Centennial approx.1875-1885, possibly into the 1890s as the patriotic fervor was very high around the time of the first 100 year Centennial. The most desirable reverse paintings on glass have XXXXX XXXXX or a Patriotic Theme of the period. You Waltham clock is a singularly fine example. It appears to be all original in finish and parts which is very important to value.

Here is one that just went through an online auction, do not know what it sold for yet, but the presale estimate (auction resale) was $300-$600. They could not confirm it was in working condition, which will have hurt the auction value.

If the painting is the same on the bottom, I only see part of the clock face and part of the throat, is the same as this one, the asking price (retail) is $2490.

Your Banjo is known as the Willard Model and apparently was made into the 1930s.

I see that you noted that Mt Vernon is on the base, so it is apparently the same clock. It should be insured (retail replacement value) for $2000 if it is complete with eagle finial and in working order.

A good resale auction/classified/Craig's List range (the online auctions can result in very low prices if they are not protected with a reserve) would be a minimum of $500 up to $750. Craig's List would be a good place to advertise it if you are going to sell it. It is local and free, but you can also list it on the nearest big city's site. State your asking price and note that you are willing to take offers, include good photos.
