VerifiedNo marks indicate that it is not gold, even rose gold would be marked 10k, 14k or 18k. There is an electronic tester 'pen' that a jeweler puts on the diamond to tell the 'hardness'' and will let you know if it is a diamond or not. I would suggest taking it to a small hometown jeweler that can test it for you. The rectangle shaped stone is considered an emerald cut. From the info you have given, I will say that it is a piece of costume jewelry.
This is why I suggest taking it to a reputable jeweler to test it for sure. The fog test is not conclusive. The electronic tester is a sure thing, sorry if you misunderstood what I was suggesting. I was only going from the limited information that you gave in your first initial question.
