Two works by the artist have been offered at auction in recent years; one sold for $275 while the other went unsold at a $500 to $700 estimate. The auctioneer that sold the $275 example was Allard Auctions (http://www.allardauctions.com/) and I found two more smaller examples that sold at smaller auctions at $150 and $40 respectively.

According to Valerie Jacobs, sister of the artist, "Francis Woodahl was my brother. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. October 22, 1938 and passed away in May 1989. He was called Jackie by all his friends and family. It was anickname he picked up as a child because he used to love to play with a Jack-in-the-Box. He received a scholarship to the Maryland Institute of Art and served as an illustrator for the Navy aboard the U.S. S. Yorktown. He was a Founding Member of the Western Artists of America. Before he passed away he was recognized for his mastering of oil and tempera painting in western art and his rich detail and color which set his artwork apart. He had several galleries showing his work in Arizona, California and Texas."
