Hi! My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will try to assist you. The tag is odd...nomenclature just means "name"....the best way to verify provenance is to do a title search which is generally availble through your DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles). You will need to request the "Title History" for the VIN (vehicle identification number) of the car. That will trace the ownership back to when it was new....that is the only way to verify it it was military used or not since anybody could request any paint color they wanted back then on special order. UPDATE: Probably no need...

OK, the car was a basic 1957 Chevrolet Civilian model 150, bare bones 4 door sedans with a standard 235 cubic inch inline "stovebolt" 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed on the column standard shift. It was designated the Model 1503 for military use. The Army had the most and were painted the standard 14087 Gloss Olive Drab. The USAF had them in Strata Blue and the Navy, in battleship gray. Extra accessories were limited to a heater and cigarette lighter and none had AM radios. Those used by MPs had a white band at the window line on doors and were pre-wired for radio equipment in the trunk to accomodate not only a radio but also a siren. Not true at all, sorry....according to Hemmings, at least 19 1957's are out there...and most likely many, many more...they are only the ones in restored databases. I suggest you go to one of the forums on them to get more info. Unrestored, they are offered for under $6k...again, from one of the forums I looked at.
