My Kindle Fire appears...

My Kindle Fire appears to not charge...I'm now at 25% battery - but it appears the plug is not working. Can I purchase a new cord???

Technician's Assistant: Have you tried different power sources or a different wall adapter (the part of the charger with prongs)?

Technician's Assistant: Is the charging port of your Kindle Fire clean, with the small tab inside unbent?

Is the 'charging port' what's at the end of the cord? I do feel that it was a bit at an angle and I straightened it out.....which is why I'm wondering if I could purchase a new charging cord?

I guess not - seems like this is my problem as the Kindle works - just won't use it as the battery goes down and then I'm sunk!!!! Yes, connect me if you wish. thank you!

This symptom can indicate several possible issues: an internal hardware failure, a low/faulty battery, or just a simple memory/firmware glitch.

The first step here will be to attempt to reboot the kindle. This is done by pressing/sliding and holding the power button for 20+ seconds, or until the screen flashes (usually with an image of a tree), then release. Give the kindle about a minute to start back up. Note that you may need to repeat this process 4-5 times for the reset to take effect. Let me know if the problem persists, we can then try some further steps.
