My Kobo Touch is frozen on the factory reset (Restoring)

Customer Question

My Kobo Touch is frozen on the factory reset (Restoring) page. Left it plugged in over night and nothing changed. Currently plugged into my computer and green light is on
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Kobo Touch. 5-7 years?
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It has been frozen over night. I have attempted a factory reset
JA: Anything else you want the e-reader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Yesterday it was frozen as well - to a screen with one vertical black line on it. Then I attempted the factory reset as the soft reset did not work, and now I'm stuck on that screen

I have attempted to run a factory reset again and the blue light at the top turns on and then it turns green again and nothing on the screen changes
Expert:  Josh replied 2 months ago.

Which buttons did you press for the factory reset?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I pressed the home button and held the power switch until the red light started blinking

  1. Take a small paper clip and unfold it until you have an inch or so of straight wire.
  2. Turn your eReader over.
  3. Locate the small hole on its back, near the bottom left corner.
  4. Slide the end of the straightened paper clip into the hole.
  5. Press gently until you feel a click.
  6. Your eReader will reset.

That did not work. Thank you for your help, but I have just received a bunch of unauthorized charges to my bank account from Just Answer so I would like to end this chat so I can resolve these charges. Not your fault at all, just feel like I'm getting scammed. Thank you

Okay, thank you.
