I have an old galaxy 10.1 tablet. I'm trying to send an email , and it will let me compose it but when I try to send its askingfor a server password. did'nt know I needed one how do I get one?
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: probably 4 years. I can't open the back so I don'nt know serial number only that it it is a galaxyNOTE 10.1
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Iusually don'nt use it to sent emails.I've been through all of the settings as for emails

Ok, can you use the same password ***** you use at to set up the email on your tablet again?

First, remove the account off the tablet:

  1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Email.
  3. While viewing the account you want to delete, tap the Menu icon.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Delete account.
  6. Tap to check the preferred account and then tap Delete.
  7. Tap Delete to confirm.


Then add the email account to the tablet again:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings >Accounts.
  2. Touch Add account.
  3. Touch Email.
  4. Enter your Email, then touch NEXT.
  5. Check your email, then touch NEXT.
  6. Enter your password. Then, touch Sign in.
  7. Touch Allow.
  8. Touch NEXT to finish.
