Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ive tried replacing the battery and connecting to power.
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.
  1. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons at the same time
  2. After the phone vibrates, let go of the Power button, while still holding the other two buttons until Android System Recovery screen appears.
  3. Using the “Volume Down” button, highlight “wipe cache partition” and press the Power button to select it.
  4. After the cache partition is cleared, the LG V10 will reboot automatically
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

Try this please.

I tried the first step but phone didnt vibrate
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

That means it did not charge or the battery is gone bad. Remove the battery for 5 mins and then replace and charge for 20 mins

I dont have a working phone
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
are the home and power buttons the same?
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

I know those requests are sent by the system I can help you here.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ive tried 3 known good charged batteries and none fixed it
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

Sounds like it may be the battery.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
but shouldnt it work when plugged into power?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
if the battery were truly bad?
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

Not all phones do. Is there play or looseness in the charging port when you plug the cord in?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
no
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Lets go back to your first instruction. you named 2 buttons but implied there were 3. home and power are the same
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

The combo is vol up and power or vol down and power. Depending on the version of your software. Sorry for the typo.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Neither works
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I measured the voltage on both batteries with a DVM. They are both at 3.75 Volts
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
its not a battery problem
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
what else can I try?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
how long do I have to hold those buttons down?
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

I typically hold them for about 20 secs.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
ok. let me try again
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

The button combo is the end all be all that you can perform from home. So if that does not work you may have to attempt a warranty replacement.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
its about 1 month out of warranty
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
holding for 20 seconds didnt work
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
what would be the easiest way to recover phone numbers in the cloud?
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

OH BOY thats no good. Hold on no second please

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I use T mobile
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
holding
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

I was sent this from my Tmobile support team:

https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-29056

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
the procedure you sent only works if the phone can power up
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
the second part of it was the same procedure you gave me.
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

Read the second section starting at step 3

Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

Correct that is the manufacturers reset options. If they do not work there is not a ton we can do to attempt to recover this unfortunately. I would try calling T mobile and see if they will still honor the warranty being that it is only 30 days. Let them know you tried the alternate factory reset to no avail.

Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

I am sorry. It sometimes feels like our phones are made to stop after a warranty runs out :(

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
The logo never appears. besides i dont want to erase all of my contacts.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
it does. This could be by design. I tried talking to T Mobile already but just got the run around. thanks for all of your help though.
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

Honestly at this point everything on the phone not backed up is there but accessible. The only option you have is to factory reset it. You can always reach out to LG but they will have you send it in and they will typically replace it not fix it. They would probably also charge you.

Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

I am very sorry.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
right now I would just like to retrieve the phone numbers from the SIM card. how would I do that?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
factory reset doesnt erase the SIM?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I just got charged $25 by your company. I thought this was a 7 day free trial! Plus my phone still doesnt work!
Expert:  Samuel White replied 10 months ago.

The sim card does not carry any data. They used to but not anymore. If you had an sd card it would possibly have the information on it. I do not charge you anything I am a contracted expert. The sites customer can support you with an billing issues you have however.
