Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I think that you might want to try replacing the battery altogether. At 5 years old, and after 6 months disuse, that could be indicated as being worth trying.

But: have you tried plugging the charger in to the phone, then starting the phone up while attached to the charger? or is it the type of charger that does not plug in to the phone?

have many battries for phone russ. yes ive tried to plug in light comes on but thats it when take off charge light stays on. have to take battrey out

OK. Then that's not it.

Your phone may be 'broken'... and in need of either servicing or replacing.

But, if you are good with your hands, have the right tools, etc., you could try opening it, and re-seating (carefully) the ribbon cable to the display, in side the case.

There is a good chance that it will go completely dead if you try this carelessly. Anti-static precautions, and delicate handling of the components and esp. of the ribbon cable, would be very necessary for this procedure to have a good chance of working out.

Hi there and welcome

There are still a number of things we can try

First, can you power it off by holding the power button for 60 seconds then release.

Then hold the volume UP and power and tell me if you get to a menu

Let me know please
