The only way to remove the lock is to reset the Tablet. This will remove all data from the tablet and return it to new. This you cannot avoid, it is the whole point of the lock, to protect the data.

To do the reset, please do the following.

  1. At the very beginning switch off the tablet by using the Power key and choosing power off.
  2. After that, press and hold together Volume Up + Home + Power button for a few seconds.
  3. Release held keys when the Samsung Logo appears on the screen.
  4. Select "wipe data / factory reset" by using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
  5. In the next step choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm whole operation.
  6. When the Recovery Mode appears again select "reboot system now".

That then completes the process, the tablet will have been resetted and you can set it up again and use it.
