okay, try this please. I have sent a reset email to your big pond email address for a samsung account. Reset that password ***** following the directions in that email. Then let me know the password ***** you created. We may be able to use that password ***** reset the screen lock on your tablet.

okay, I was able to set a new lock screen code. The code is 1234. The tablet will need to be connected to the internet before the code will work. Do you have wifi where you are now?

Does it normally connect to wifi automatically there where you are?

it normally connects to the Internet, that's after I have logged on to the device.
I tried the code and it failed.

okay, do you have any other areas that you go to and connect the tablet to wifi?

My home has wifi throughout, which I'm currently using/logged onto. (laptop)
The Samsung device is next to me as well which I am currently recharging.
The (tablet) and it is currently on. But unable to go past the login process.

The device is showing that the battery is completely flat. However the login page is visible.

okay, try holding the power button down for 60 seconds. Then let me know if it is charging and powered on please.

okay, unless it connects to the internet you will have to restore the tablet to get it unlocked. then you can use the Samsung account or google account to restore your data.

Please inform me on how to restore the tablet, then get it unlocked. I hope that I can retrieve some of the ebooks that I have on the device thereafter.

I have tried unlocking the device in the Samsung Account, that function has is on standby status. Seems like my only option is wipe my device?

Okay, you can enter the wrong code until it erases or you can do the restore using the power and volume keys.

  1. Press and hold the Power/Lock key, tap Power off, and then tap OK to turn off the tablet.
  2. Press and hold the Power/Lock key and Up Volume key (closest to the Power/Lock key) at the same time.
  3. Release the keys when the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 logo appears.
  4. When the menu appears, press the Down Volumekey to scroll to wipe data / factory reset.
  5. Press the Power key to select.
  6. Press the Down Volume key to scroll to Yes – delete all user data.
  7. Press the Power key to select.
  8. Press the Power key to select reboot system now
