Okay lets see if I can make sense here. My battery in my kindle died so went to replace it and they (Batteries Plus) ruined the kindle so bless their hearts got me a kindle fire to replace the one they ruined. Well that is all fine and dandy but I now discovered that my old kindle which my daughter gave to me was registered under her name and password ***** I purchased all books that were downloaded under my debit card. So now I don't have the books that were on my old kindle how do I fix this. She gave me her information for the registration but the passwords do not work. What should I do!

Try this please,

  1. From your computer:
    1. Visit Manage Your Content and Devices(Amazon.com full site)
    2. Select Your Devices.
    3. Select your device or app and select Deregisterin the Actions column.
    4. To confirm, select Deregister again on the pop-up window.
  2. From your device:
    1. From Home, press the Menu button, and then select Settings.
    2. Select Deregister.

After deregistering, you can register your Kindle using the email and password ***** you got from your daughter. Let me know how it goes please.
