Customer Question

Hi there! I have a Samsung GALAXY 4. It has the parent/child lock on it and no one can seem to remember the pin number. We want to remove the parent/child lock completely so that we're able to use the tablet without getting lock out. We're unable to get to the settings figure out how to remove it. Please explain step by step how to remove the child lock. Thank you!

  1. First power the phone off and then press and hold the power button.

The phone will buzz and start up,
  2. When you see the Samsung logo press and hold the volume down button.
  3. This is going to restart your phone in safe mode.

  4. When safe mode comes up, you will see at the bottom where it says "safe mode". Then swipe to unlock .

Use the TouchWiz home, the right side icon.

  5. Swipe to the right to find kids' mode.

  6. Open up kids' mode and it is going to be as if you have started a new kids' mode account.

  7. Then set a new pin.

  8. Please let me know if this does not work or if you need any other assistance.
