My kindle app on my phone has a whole collection of books, not mine. There is no search or sync buttons

Please try the following:

Solution #1:

- Press and hold the Power on/off button on the phone and shut down / restart the phone, and check.

Solution #2:

  1. From the Kindle app's Home screen, tap the Settings icon.
  2. - For Android phone: tap on option Deregister Your Device, and confirm.
    - For iPhone: Under Registration, tap Update, and then tap Deregister this Kindle, and confirm.
  3. Then register / sign in with your correct Amazon account (using the exact email address that you've used to purchase books previously), and check.

Solution #3:

  1. Uninstall the Kindle app.
    - For Android: open Settings app icon, then open Applications - > Application manager, then swipe from right to left until you get the option All. Then scroll down, then tap on the item Amazon Kindle and uninstall, and confirm.
    - For iPhone: tap & hold on the Kindle app icon until all the app icons begin shaking, then tap on the x icon within the Kindle app and confirm delettion.
  2. Go to Play Store (for Android phone), or App Store (for iPhone) and type / search for kindle, then download / install the Kindle app and sign in, and check.
