My LG L34C Optimus Fuel from Tracfone has stopped working

Customer Question

My LG L34C Optimus Fuel from Tracfone has stopped working after only 5 months. It shows "Unfortunately, Home has stopped." And will go no further. I have repeatedly taken out the battery to try to "reset" it, but it hasn't worked. HELP, please!

This sounds like your LGs Home Launcher has glitched.

Go to Play Store and see if there is another option as a launcher. Try searching the apps for Nova Launcher, then download and install.

Let me know how it goes please.

I have no idea what Play Store is, how to download and install anything onto my phone -- since it won't let me in at all, this is not helpful.

Okay, the only other option will be to do a hard reset using the hardware keys.

Try these steps please.

Remove the battery, then reinsert the battery.

Then with the phone powered off.

Press and hold these keys at the same time.

  1. At the same time, press and hold the following keys for 8 seconds:
    • Power key
    • Volume down key
  2. When the LG Logo is displayed, release and then immediately re-hold the Power key.
  3. When the 'FACTORY HARD RESET' screen displays, release the keys.
  4. Use the Volume keys to highlight Yes or No.
  5. Press the Power button to confirm your selection.
  6. Use the Volume keys again to re-select your confirmation.
  7. Press the Power key to confirm the reset. The reset will start immediately.

it never went to Factory Hard Reset, just flashes the logo off and on... so no go

then it eventually goes to home screen, or tries to, and "Unfortunately,Home has stopped" comes on again and there's no way to get it off, pressing OK doesn't do anything...

Hello and Welcome, my name is Michael.

I would like to give it another try to find the right solution to your issue.

Go to through the same procedure BUT DON'T release the POWER KEY until the factory hard reset screen displays.

Please let me know if any further questions on this matter.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Tried it again--logo just flashes on and off, no factory hard reset screen ever. I give up, getting a new phone.
