Media scanner on my Galaxy S2 won't stop and is making my battery run down too fast. How do I correct this?

Likely the issue rests with the SD card. Try this:

- Unmount and remount the SD card (Settings>SD card and phone storage>Unmount SD card, the remount)

If the above doesn't work, or if you can't unmount/remount, remove the SD card and insert into your PC, then run scandisk on the card (right click>properties>tools>scandisk), let that run, then try re-inserting into your device.

If that doens't work, your SD card is likely bad, and needs to be replaced. Back up what data you can, copy it to a new card, and use the new card in the phone.

If that doens't work, you'll need to perform a factory reset on the phone.
