I have a 316...

I have a 316 john deer tractor which is leaking transmission fluid i put some stop leak in it seeing if it would help but now starts but then shuts off & won't start again till i leave it for awhile

You say it won't start, does the engine spin, and won't start, or the starter does not spin the engine?

it does spin the engine starts the first try then quits & won't start againnot paying $37 sorry w will have to email
