Hey...I have a yanmar...

Hey...I have a yanmar 1610d. I drained the hydraulic fluid as the existing fluid looked as though it had a little water in it. Refilled the transmission resevoir with hydraulic fluid and started the tractor up. All the hydraulics worked fine and I used the tractor for about 10 minutes. Parked the tractor while still running and tried to use the tractor again but my hydraulic pump will not pump oil. The tractor still moves in forward and reverse but my hydraulics are dead. What can I do?

We had to overfill the transmission reservoir as to cover the transmission gears with oil or the tractor will not move forward or backward. Is this a normal hydraulic fill level?

Sorry but I didn’t send a call request. Does your setup have a hose on top of the pump?

Ok...the call prompt must have been a website ad. The supply hose for the pump is located on the side of the top of the pump with the supply hose for the hydraulic hoses for the system located at the bottom of the pump.We even went as far as taking off the rubber tube that connects the pump supply tube "steel line" to the pump. We then started the tractor expecting a huge dump of oil but nothing came out. Then we loosened the fitting that joins the pump delivery hard line to the rubber hose going to the control manifold for the front end loader, which resulted in a slight leak where we loosened the fittings on the pump delivery line.

If there’s any way possible you can you fill the pump with oil? Does the supply line run up above the pump so you could disconnect the rubber tube from the steel line and pour fluid in from there?

Hey Keiphun, my father and I got it figured out. There was a blockage in the screen in the reservoir. We used compressed air to blow from the pump back to the reservoir and that cleared our blockage. We know ultimately we need to pull the screen, at some point, to clean it out. I really do appreciate your promptness in response and trying to figure out the root cause.
