I have a JD 1023E tractor and was wondering why when I raise the loader bucket it works fine, when I lower the bucket

Remove the boom hoses at the quick connects and then reattach the hoses. Do not go by how they look, just remove and reattach. I'm thinking one of the check valves in the quick connects is not fully opening.
