Customer: Why would the clutch on a 7010 mahindra tractor start slipping with only 238 hrs on the tractor has never had a implement hooked to it my old long tractor I have had for over 25 yrs I pull everything with it but this new mahindra tractor won’t even pull its self the tires still look brand new no scratches or nothing even on the tires so why would the tractor just barely pull itself and if u run it for a few min it won’t even do that

Do you have free play in the clutch pedal, so the clutch fully grasps the flywheel? Do you have FEL on the tractor?

Yeah it has a full pedal I even adjusted it it will pull on flat ground but won’t climb any kind of incline and the sad part is the tractor has never been used to pull anything I always pulled with my old tractor
You did give it free play? Has to have free play or the clutch does not fully press on the drive disc.

the mahindra dealer won’t help at all it has to be oil on the clutch or something there is no reason for a new tractor to do this

It has a front end loader on it so I can’t pull the inspection plate off so I can take a feelers gauge and check the adjustment on the clutch

My dad but he is 81 all he done with it was put firewood in the front bucket

Is it possible it’s getting a little oil on the clutch disc causing it to slip
The clutch housing should have a drain hole in the bottom, which would allow any oil to drain, and not get on the clutch disc.
I know it is far out, but be sure the rear tires have plenty of air, I have seen where the tire would start to spin in a wheel and tractor will stop pulling.

That’s what I thought I just don’t understand how a brand new tractor that’s never been abused or anything and has never had a bush hog or turning plow hooked to it do this and as far as air pressure goes there full of air the only thing I can conclude is something has came loose inside

as far as the air pressure goes it’s hard to spin out when your not pulling a thing and in*****low range

U have to put the tractor in low range for it to even move and after it gets warm it quits moving all together doesn’t make any noise at all just won’t go anywhere on flat ground

I’m very disappointed in this tractor I have a old tractor I pull everything with some things I shouldn’t try pulling with it but never had a clutch problem and it has over 6 thousand hrs on it

But anyway thanks for your help sounds like your just as stumped as I am I have came to the conclusion that maybe it has a bad pressure plate because I have never smelled the clutch burning but either way I’m going to have to spend a few grand fixing a brand new tractor or hire an attorney and have mahindra fix it under warranty which they refuse to do because they say a clutch is a wear item
Why a negative rating? Clutch is worn from the use of the FEL. Yjese small tractors take little abuse, not like the old Fords. and Longs. With a negative rating, I get no credit.

Because my dad was a truck driver over 40 yrs it’s not like he doesn’t know how to drive without burning a clutch out the tires doesn’t even have any cuts etc from spinning I believe it was just a bad clutch to start with
So that gives me a negative rating, I didn't build the tractor!

Sure , they can be a problem with the pressure plate or the drive disc. The only way to know is to examine it! It may have nothing to do with the operation!
