I have attached the wiring diagrams for the Gear and Hydro models.

Do you have the serial number?

Can you start tractor with out the clutch pedal pushed down?l?

Or with out sitting in the seat?

Does the connector have 20 holes?

do the colors of the wires match?

I don't understand "the previous owner wired the glow plugs directly off the ignition switch." There is a "heat" position on the key switch, just left of the Stop position.

So it is controlled by the key switch.

Is nothing working on the Instrument cluster?

no oil light, no park light?

The wire for the glow plugs starts at the Key switch, color Black with white stripe,then goes to a junction , the Instrument cluster glow plug light, and to the glow plugs.

Can you tell me if you "heat" position is to the right of left of the "Stop"

Will the tractor start and run?

May have found something.

At the Alternator the there should be a Red /blue wire, and a Light green / Red on the same terminal, this goes to a Diode changes color to White / red wire which goes to the Instrument cluster to power the cluster.

Is the wire harness connected to the Instrument cluster?

With key on check for 12 vdc on the White/ red wire.

Also check the negative battery cable where it connects to the frame, and see the attached grounds to check.

It does sound like the Safety Controller is missing,

The Safety controller protects you from starting the tractor in unsafe conditions, and will not allow the PTO to run if you are out of the seat.

Okay that means an earlier s/n

yes serial number may be helpful.
